Sunset at Panther Beach
After the sun went down, the sky filled with color.
Another View of the Capitola Pier
Taken only 7 minutes before the photo in my prior post, this image has a totally different feel. The colors in the sky are softer and the whole image has a surreal feel to it.
Capitola Pier at Sunset
Beautiful colors in the sky as the sun went down.
Joshua Tree at Sunset
Taken just as the last light was leaving the sky in Joshua Tree National Park
More Half Moon Bay
I’m been to this spot many time taking pictures and am usually so fascinated by the trees right where I’m standing that I don’t look look around for alternative views. I’m pleased to have to noticed this one on my recent visit.
Return to Half Moon Bay
I always wonder if returning to the same the photo spot stunts or expands my creativity. Sometimes I think I’m just trying to repeat my past success. On the other hand, Monet painted the same garden over and over capturing it’s nuances in many different lights.
This is my favorite sunset spot near home. It’s in Half Moon Bay, less than 45 minutes from my home so easy to get to. I was here in 2008 and all the way back in 2001. My open question is am I getting better over time?
Summer Solstice Sunset
Shot just north of Davenport, CA on Summer Solstice 2009. Both summer and winter solstices are important days to me. For thousands of years of humans have marked the solstice with some ancient civilizations building massive moments on solstice alignments. For me, it’s both a day to appreciate all the glorious sunlight of the longest day of the year and to think about our connection to our ancient ancestors.
